Kilimanjaro won the Jean-Marc Boivin Prize at the Dijon Adventure Festival
Le Mans - In the Lap of the Gods is out on DVD. Rich helped shoot it this summer. For a lump of metal hurtling round a track it’s not come out too bad. It got DVD of the year in this Xmas’s Top Gear Magazine and fine reviews in Evo and the Daily Telegraph. See more details in our Documentaries Other Work 2 section.
Le Mans also won a 'Mention D'Honneur' at the Milan International Film Festival 2006
and was nominated for the 'Guirlande D'Honneur'.
That’s enough spouting about awards and stuff else me big head will explode through the attic roof.

Also out is the Alpine Essentials DVD that we did for the BMC. 3 hrs of info on how not to corpse it on the glaciers and peaks of Europe’s finest mountains. We learnt an amazing amount of stuff while filming it and it’s well worth a look. I’d always been very intimidated by the idea of going climbing in the Alps but the filming trip broke down a lot of barriers. The beauty and excitement of going up a 3000m plus peak is really within the grasp of anyone reasonably fit.

Anyone go to see Bond this Autumn. It was pretty enjoyable except ‘who the hell was Mr White’? The Berghaus ad about Leo that preceded many screening was shot by Ben. You can see it on their website and a 'making of' web stream too.

In October we filmed another section for Hard XS; Tim Emmett trying for a ground up repeat of Extinction E8 on Gogarth. It was outrageous and it’s fair to say I’ve not experienced commitment like it before. Though he failed when he lowered off, everyone was in fits of hysterics through shear relief. Sorry that we are going at a snail’s pace on this project.
