  • Off Piste EssentialsOff Piste Essentials wrapped at the beginning of the month and (miracle) a first cut is already done. The shoot was pretty fierce with much cussing. Here is a ten second movie >> that Al Mitchell, one of the stars, took of us filming a piece about ski belays here>>.
Next up is Hill Walking Essentials.

  • In our shared office others have been throwing it about and Eve has finally started on the follow up to 'Made in Sheffield'. It follows the Sheffield music scene from the mid eighties to the mid nineties; Dee Boyle - The Beat Is The Lawthe fall and rise of Pulp and the rise and fall of the dance scene. I've helped do some of the interviews and some have been proper emotional, could be cracking stuff. Here's a still from the interview of Dee Boyle of the Longpigs in the back of the Cremorne pub on London Road. The Longpigs (of which Richard Hawley was one) imploded through excessive work and excessive excessiveness - it was some tale and Dee is only just recovering from the fall-out ten years on.

  • On the HardXS front; thanks for all the feedback; mostly positive, mostly exasperated at the lack of a play-all button. Bits have been entered in to film festivals but to tell you the truth I can't remember which ones. Squarmish in Canada is one though. For all those who are undecided as to whether to purchase the film check out this review lifted from a German website. It's been translated using the google translating facility and makes for a wonderfully bizarre read. I think they like it!?!

  • Finally big congratulations to Andy Harris who got married to Siobhan last weekend. It was a great happy do. For those that don't know, Andy was one of the stars in our dark monster piece Stonelove and it was at the premiere in Kendal that he met Siobhan, in the ladies. She was drunk on Baileys and he was drunk and drinking a pint of bitter while doing a hand stand.

  • As a minor celebration I thought maybe we could give away ten DVD's of Stonelove. I've been hassling Ben to do a proper job on doing a DVD so we could sell it but it's not happened, so I might as well give away some copies of something rough I did a while back. It's just the film with a few photos as an extra. Anyways first ten people to send me an email saying 'send me your Stonelove booty', get a copy. I'll amend this news to say when they have gone.
