  • Grand Prix

After a certain amount of detective work getting phone numbers and contacts John (the Producer on the Grand Prix film) and I have just had a fascinating fortnight meeting and interviewing many of the star drivers and team members from 60's and 70's GP. Jackie Oliver, Jackie Stewart, Jacky Ickx, Nina Rindt, Len Terry, Emerson Fittipaldi, John Surtees to name but a few. We went off in John's VW camper sleeping in lay-bys and camp sites which gave the shoot an odd feeling of relaxation and fun. On the the story front, the drivers still seemed to feel angry about the danger, death and mayhem of that era and, I think, any resultant film is going to be imbued with a certain melancholy. The glamour and speed was definitely only the half of it.

  • Prior to this in May I manage to get an hour long cut of the Revolution/Spent/Consumer film done. It's not that good though (no fault of the contributors mind) and unfortunately it's about to go on the back burner as Grand Prix world takes over.

  • English Heritage Logo

Also did a little edit for English Heritage about the South Downs which is becoming a national park next year. They are trying to promote some of the archaeology and natural splendour of the area. Lovely thing to do and got to use some of my favourite twinkly music.
